In Japan 380, I studied Japan's geography, demographics, seasons and natural disasters in a completely Japanese classroom setting. We used an online textbook in order to learn about Japan's climate, demographics, social issues such the aging society, and past disasters all in advanced level Japanese. We also gave presentations in Japanese on topics we choose for each section. I gave presentations about Japanese blizzards, the Great Hanshin Earthquake and Japan's aging issues, which can be viewed below.
In JAPN 303, I learned about Business level Japanese in a completely Japanese setting. We studied Japanese business manners such as aisatsu, self introductions, keigo, and other business mannerisms. Everyday in class we would form pairs and watch business mannerism instruction videos, and then answer checklist questions to help confirm our understanding of the material. At the end of the semester we created our own Business Japanese dramas based on examples we watched in class. My script for my groups video can be viewed below.

In JAPN 300, I primarily learned Japanese linguistics such as grammar, vocabulary, and kanji. Much of the semester was spent learning grammar points such as "looks like", "I want/don't want", "Humble forms" and more. We also gave a presentation on Japanese tea ceremony to local High School students, and I prepared tea formally for the students. We gave presentation each chapter for three different topics, our hometowns ecolife, what our childhood was like and how we would like to raise our future children as well as, and a make believe situation where we accomplished something in life and were being remembered for it. My presentations are listed below.
